Fraudulent recruiters have been using social media platforms to dupe potential job seekers into divulging personal and financial information.

Sophisticated frauds, involving grooming of targeted individuals, shows the fake recruiter asking the unsuspecting job seeker to take part in a fake job interview, either over the phone or via WhatsApp, and also sending fraudulent follow-up correspondence offering job positions.
Any communication about jobs at Oxford University Hospitals will come from 'Trac', or via an ouh.nhs.uk email address.

All meetings and interviews will be scheduled on Microsoft Teams from a verified OUH email account.

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a clinical expert, leading progressive nursing practice and contributing to the strategic direction and operational management of the heart failure service at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. To be responsible for providing autonomous and expert practice through leadership, consultation, clinical decision making, teaching and support for senior nursing staff. The post holder will work closely with the clinical lead, heart failure consultants and other members of the MDT and working across organisational boundaries identifying patients admitted to the OUH with heart failure, providing comprehensive management plans, information, advice, and support to patients.

The role requires working at the Horton and John Radcliffe Hospital sites


Main duties of the job

To identify and initiate change in response to service, taking a professional and clinical lead in the development of evidence-based approach to practice, fostering a culture that contributes to the clinical governance agenda. Leading on strategic projects within the heart failure service at local, regional, and national level.

To be responsible for the management and development of the senior nursing team.

To provide clinical leadership for advanced practice in Heart Failure. To provide supervision/training to staff and students, developing nursing skills, ensuring that policies and procedures are implemented and evaluated, and ensuring that educational and development opportunities are optimised.

To ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of material and human resources within agreed budgets and to act as an authorised signatory.

To promote the practice of patient centred nursing within the team.

To provide support to the Matron as required.

Person specification


Knowledge and Experience

* Experience and expertise within heart failure at band 7
* Evidence of ongoing CPD, including multi-source feedback and workplace-based assessments evidence within own professional portfolio of evidence.
* Experience of clinical audit, service evaluation or improvements in practice
* Knowledge of clinical governance issues and measures of quality
* Proven evidence of management ability and leadership skills
* Excellent clinical acumen and practical procedural skills (with evidence of competency and capability) as an independent practitioner, as per Job Description for role
* Ability to appraise evidence, using analytical and problem-solving skills to inform decision-making, and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands
* Experience of change management
* Demonstrable evidence of research capability, or the application of research evidence to own clinical practice
* Existing technical clinical procedural skills relevant to clinical service
* Experience of writing for publication and/or conference presentations


Personal SKills

* Ability to recognise own limitations, working within scope of practice, acting on feedback linked to practice change when required
* Evidence of effective team working and team leadership (when required) as part of a multi-disciplinary professional team
* Commitment to CPD practices for own development, and the development and support of others
* Commitment to evidencing own professional development, capabilities and competency development via work-based assessments and use of a portfolio

* Evidence of leadership skills in relation to delivering educational teaching or lecturers, with associated feedback and evaluations, internally and/or externally to the organisation (e.g. HEIs)


Qualifications

* Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC, HCPC or GPhC)
* First level degree (HEI Level 5 or 6) or equivalent, in undergraduate base profession
* MSc L7 Advanced Practice or equivalent - in relevant Advanced Practice field
* Specialist post-graduate education / qualifications, or training relevant to area of clinical practice for ACP role (e.g. IRMER/Pocus)
* Mentoring, Facilitating Workplace Learning or Clinical Supervision Qualification
* Leadership Course or Qualification
* Advanced Life Support Course relevant to speciality (as required)
* Professional ACP Credential - From recognised professional body pathways, or HEE


Behavioural Skills

* Demonstrates a clear vision of the ACP role within the clinical service, and organisationally
* Aligned to the Trust values, conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times
* Positive attitude to all tasks and stakeholders, excellent communication skills (all channels)
* Willingness and enthusiasm towards working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in delivering care


Technical IM&T skills

* Computer literate with experience of working with Microsoft Office packages
* Advanced keyboard skills, to ensure fluent documentation
* Evidence of e-portfolio use.
