Race Team Mechanic
The race team mechanic will maintain the fleet of Darkside Developments Race and Track Cars. Liaising with the Workshop Service Manager, you will ensure all vehicles are prepared to the highest standard in time for each race meeting or event. You will also work closely with Tuning, Fabrication, Parts, and Dispatch departments to achieve our goal of successive victories.
Role Benefits
Salary: Depending on experience, approximately £34,000 - £40,000 including bonus scheme
Target Hours: 42.5 hours per week
*Weekend work and late nights may be required to meet deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure both cars are built to the same standards and specifications according to existing documentation
* Work within tight timelines to ensure vehicles are ready for each race or event
* Keep accurate records of the race car operation, including parts fitted and replaced during events
* Attend and support all race and test events
* Organise pre- and post-race truck and equipment
* Fulfil other responsibilities related to the role
* Liaise with other departments
Skills and Abilities
* Experience with BMW / VAG vehicles is beneficial
* Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
* Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivation, goal setting, and confidence
* Organisational effectiveness and leadership qualities
* Good timekeeping
* Maintain a professional appearance and cleanliness
* Experience with diagnostics and fitting non-standard parts
* Previous workshop experience is essential
* Basic tools are required; specialist tools will be provided
* Formal qualifications are less important than skill, experience, and enthusiasm
Applicant Requirements
* Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and EU
* Full UK driving license
