Overview
We're looking for an Interim Chief People Officer to join an established organisation in Merseyside with ambitious growth plans. This is a hands‑on strategic role suited to someone who thrives on transformation, cultural development, and driving meaningful change at pace. If you can step in, quickly assess priorities, implement a people strategy, and demonstrate measurable impact, there is a genuine opportunity for the role to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, refine and deliver the organisation's People Strategy to support business goals and future growth.
* Drive strategic implementation across HR, talent, culture, engagement and organisational design.
* Partner closely with the senior leadership team to influence and support key decisions.
* Build credibility quickly and create strong relationships across the organisation.
* Identify gaps, set priorities and roll out initiatives that improve capability, performance and engagement.
* Oversee major people projects including culture development, leadership capability, workforce planning and change management.
* Provide expert guidance on complex HR issues and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
* Coach and develop leaders to strengthen performance and accountability.
* Review the current People function and introduce best‑practice systems, processes and approaches.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a CPO or People Director within a fast‑paced or transforming organisation.
* A strong track record of delivering strategic change and creating visible, measurable impact.
* Experience within regulated industries although not essential is highly desireable.
* Someone who excels in strategic implementation as well as practical execution.
* Confident, credible and able to influence at all levels.
* Commercially minded and resilient, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
* Experience driving cultural change, organisational development and leadership capability.
* Ability to quickly diagnose challenges and deliver outcome‑focused solutions.
