The role
As a Welding and Fabrication Production Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll lead and motivate a team of skilled operators to deliver complex fabrication projects that support the Royal Navy’s Type 31 programme. Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Leading and motivating teams to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
2. Managing workloads to meet contract requirements for cost, time, and quality.
3. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
4. Driving continuous improvement by eliminating waste and improving value-add processes.
5. Taking ownership of activity levels and resource allocation within your area.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday (7:30 am – 5:00 pm), with occasional overtime on Fridays or Sundays and is based on site at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Welding and Fabrication Production Supervisor
6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and communicate technical requirements.
7. Skilled in working with metric dimensions to tight tolerances.
8. Experience with laser leveling and working to datum points.
9. Background in heavy steel fabrication.
10. Strong understanding of technical drawings.
Qualifications for the Welding and Fabrication Production Supervisor
11. Time-served with extensive recent experience in fabrication and welding.
12. Formal fabrication or shipbuilding technical qualifications.
