Make your mark for patients
We are looking for a Technician who is agile and innovative to join our Biological Services Unit, based in Slough, UK (Windlesham 2026/2027).
About the role
We have an opportunity for an experienced licensed animal technician to join our leading research establishment.
The BSU plays a crucial role in UCB’s drug discovery platform. When it’s necessary to conduct in-vivo experiments, we are dedicated to providing the highest welfare standards and always consider ethical implications.
The staff in the unit are specialists in providing practical in-vivo support and advise for scientists, as well as providing an outstanding environment and care for the animals housed. Optimising housing conditions, reducing stress, and refining all human interactions with our animals are key to our ethics, standards and scientific models. We expect the Technicians to be proactive with these refinements and set examples for the unit.
The facilities will fully relocate to Windlesham, Surrey in early 2027; however, some travel will be required toward the end of 2026. Staff will be expected to support the preparation and transition activities, including establishing processes at the new facility to ensure regulatory compliance and to facilitate the successful introduction of animals in optimal conditions.
