Role:
This role is within the electrical engineering department, where you will work alongside a small team focusing on electronics, mechanical systems, and materials handling conveyor system installation & design.
Interpack Machinery & Services Ltd typically solves challenges within the packaging sector whilst also retaining the ability to manufacture completely bespoke machinery where needed. This role provides the opportunity to learn and grow, through coaching and mentoring, in a close-knit team of engineers working in an agile company environment.
We work on projects at different levels of technical maturity across design/product life-cycles, providing exposure the full spectrum of technology readiness levels, including early concept R&D work conducted within the department.
Under the remit of the Operations Manager, the candidate will also contribute to wider Systems Integration support within the company on secure programmes. A full "Right to work" and enhanced DBS check will be carried out as standard. This role therefore requires a British citizen able to attain the appropriate clearances.
Responsibilities:
* Support the design of digital and analogue electronics subassemblies using a range of embedded and communication system technologies.
* Work with subject matter experts on migrating early concepts into prototype designs toward established baselines ahead of design reviews.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to further develop prototypes through production engineering ahead of manufacture.
* Document designs according to established quality management systems, including all levels of functional and detailed design and appropriate test specifications.
* Support and lead the testing and commissioning of equipment and systems both in-house and on-site, and testing for activities such as EMC compliance testing.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Diploma, degree or similar in Electronic Engineering.
* Experience in PLC programming and robotics.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
* Self‑motivated and able to work independently against a project plan, but also able to work as part of a wider team with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Ability to think creatively to overcome challenges, with an aptitude for continuous improvement.
* Articulate, verbally and in writing, including competency with standard Microsoft‑based IT tools.
