Job overview Help shape the future of medical education in Wales Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) is seeking an exceptional clinical leader to take on the role of Postgraduate Medical Dean with responsibility for secondary care and Foundation training programmes and working in close partnership with the Primary Care Dean who leads on GP training. This is a nationally influential position at the heart of medical education reform, workforce transformation, and quality improvement across NHS Wales. As a visible and strategic leader within HEIW’s Medical Directorate, you will oversee postgraduate medical education and training for all secondary care and foundation doctors in training (resident doctors), working closely with the Primary Care Dean and senior colleagues across the multi‑professional education portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of the medical workforce, strengthen educational governance, and drive system‑wide improvement across Wales.
