Opportunity
My client is a Chartered Insurance Broker working with the commercial sector and is now looking to expand their team after recent unprecedented growth. An Insurance Account Handler role has been created to join the team. The candidate will need to be highly enthusiastic, willing to learn, and looking to grow a career within the insurance profession while helping the business achieve its objectives. You will fully support the Commercial Division, Business Development Executives, Account Executives and Account Handlers in the key areas of account handling, broking of existing and new business to insurers, and in the underwriting of new schemes.

Responsibilities
* Maintain appropriate, regular contact with existing customers and ensure their insurance requirements continue to be met in line with service levels.
* Prepare and agree forecasts, targets, plans and budgets for your area of work in conjunction with the manager of the construction division.
* Work closely with Account Executives and other Account Handlers where necessary to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Ensure files, notes and other records are clear, complete, up to date and available to other staff during absences.
* Act at all times within FCA principles and comply with FCA and internal procedures to meet company responsibilities.
* Assist the wider Division and Broking team with London Market presence and placement via Lloyd's.
Skills & Abilities
* Insurance experience preferred but not essential; Acturis experience advantageous.
* Organise self and work effectively.
* Passed or working towards Cert CII.
* Questioning and evaluating client needs.
* Build relationships – internal & external.
* Strong communication skills: telephone, verbal & written.
* Ability to sell and cross‑sell.
* Rapport building with clients and underwriters.
