Children’s Mental Health Teaching Assistant – Leeds Support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs and make a real difference! Leader Education are seeking compassionate and adaptable Children’s Mental Health Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Leeds. This is a school-based role, ideal for flexible, temporary or ad hoc work, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. What You’ll Do Support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across a range of ages Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils with both academic learning and social-emotional development Assist children in building confidence, resilience, and coping strategies Adapt your approach daily to meet the unique needs of each child Who We’re Looking For Previous experience in schools is not essential, but desirable Passionate about supporting children with additional needs and willing to learn Candidates with backgrounds in youth work, sport, army, police, prison, or creative arts (music, art) are encouraged to apply Patient, empathetic, proactive, and committed to creating a positive learning environment What We Offer PAYE payroll via our in-house team Flexible temporary/ad hoc work, with potential to move into permanent roles Access to Team Teach and SEND/SEMH-specific training Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement Full AWR compliance for fair pay and working conditions Safer Recruitment & DBS All candidates must complete Leader Education’s vetting process.
