Job Description
Company Overview
Teledyne Qioptiq specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing, and supporting complex electro-optical components, modules, and systems for military and aerospace applications, including tactical solutions, satellite cover glass, HUDs, HMDs, energetic devices, and detonators.
Position Outline
Establish coating process planning aligned with VCPs from Vacuum Coating Development Engineers. Investigate daily process issues, identify reasons for product cost variances, resolve technical issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize defects.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete process planning and routings on AX system.
* Support cost margin investigations and review coating status of orders.
* Review tooling, drawing configurations, and amend batch sizes as needed.
* Support order inquiries and resolve production process problems, focusing on quality issues.
* Support daily processes and may operate plant equipment for new process validation and chamber commissioning.
Personal Specification
Candidates must have:
* Understanding of coating principles.
* Strong education background, proficient in Microsoft Office, and familiar with scientific methods.
* Engineering or scientific background for credible communication with engineering and production teams.
* Lean manufacturing knowledge with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
* Commercial acumen, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
* High motivation, responsiveness, meticulous attention to detail.
Desirable skills include knowledge of high precision manufacturing standards, continuous improvement methodologies, interferometry, profilometry, polishing processes, relevant engineering qualifications, and experience with ISO9001/AS9100 environments.
