The team play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and strategies that improve their environmental and social impact. Client Details This role is with a well-established, leading global financial institution known for its expertise in banking and financial services. Description As an Analyst/Associate, you'll be instrumental in first line of defence ESG transaction governance. Your work will ensure consistent application of sustainability-related processes across a wide range of corporate finance transactions. You'll collaborate across teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and contribute to the institution's net zero and sustainable finance objectives. There is a language requirement for this role, Japanese language at business level proficiency is required. Lead sustainability reviews for complex transactions, offering expert judgment and guidance. Advise Front Office teams on ESG frameworks, due diligence, and sustainability processes. Coordinate with regional and global stakeholders to align sustainability governance practices. Enhance frameworks for net zero alignment and sustainable finance labelling. Mentor junior team members and represent the team in working groups and forums. Monitor emerging ESG trends and regulations to improve internal practices. Drive continuous improvement of governance tools and internal processes. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders and senior management. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sustainability regulations and best practices. Coordinate with external partners and organisations to advance sustainability objectives. Assist in developing frameworks for measuring the impact of sustainability initiatives. Contribute to the continuous improvement of sustainability processes and practices.Profile There is a language requirement for this role, Japanese language at business level proficiency is required. A strong understanding of sustainability principles and their application within financial services. Proven experience in banking, financial services, or a related field. Proven experience in ESG, sustainable finance, or sustainability governance. Strong analytical thinking with the ability to assess ambiguous information. Comfortable navigating stakeholder relationships and complex workflows. Passionate about sustainability and continuous learning. Inclusive, culturally aware, and a natural team leader. Knowledge of relevant sustainability regulations and frameworks. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
