Responsibilities
* Lead on sourcing and procuring goods, works and services that keep vital healthcare services running smoothly.
* Ensure compliance with current procurement legislation and best practice while delivering value for money.
* Build strong supplier relationships and provide trusted procurement advice to clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders.
* Manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, including Requests for Quotations, tenders (below and above threshold), mini‑competitions, and framework agreements.
* Support commercial awareness and cost‑efficiency initiatives, identifying savings opportunities and negotiating with suppliers.
Requirements
* Essential
o GCSE Maths and English – Grades A*–C or 9–4 (or equivalent)
o CIPS Level 4 qualification or working towards
* Experience
o Public sector procurement experience, with a solid understanding of UK procurement legislation and compliance.
o Demonstrable end‑to‑end procurement delivery experience, including running Requests for Quotations, tenders, mini‑competitions and using framework agreements.
o Hands‑on experience evaluating bids against weighted criteria and supporting contract award decisions.
o Strong stakeholder engagement skills, working with a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical parties.
o Experience managing supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring performance and value for money.
o Proficiency with e‑procurement systems (e.g. Atamis, Jaggaer, Oracle, or similar).
o Excellent communication and advisory skills.
