The Principal Sales Engineer is a subject matter expert providing direction, specialist knowledge, thought leadership, and pre-sales support to position N-able technology through consultation, presentations, product demonstrations, and benchmarks throughout the sales process. You are a trusted advisor who proactively learns and understands customers' technical and business challenges and are able to propose effective solutions to mitigate their concerns/offer gainful solutions. You have a track record in initiating and driving large and complex projects to completion.

You will get to develop business value propositions around N-able's products and solutions and work closely with internal cross-functional teams to spec new products and features, create positioning statements and demonstration collateral, and prioritize the product roadmap.

As part of a local team of high-performing sales engineers, you will be expected to accelerate the usage and consumption of N-able products and solutions and overcomes technical and competitive buying objections, and help to drive license revenue by getting the technical win.


What You'll Do

* Build highly-complex, multi-product, proof of concept (POC) solutions for customer evaluations as part of the sales engagement process. Create POC guidelines for key features in customer demonstrations. Customize prospect’s environment to meet all technical requirements to satisfy POC.
* Install and configure multiple network management products, system and application monitoring products, and security-related products. Perform as an SME for select products.
* Leverage the consultative sales process for prospective users to determine product capability assessment and validation, as it applies to the technical sales process.
* Assist sales reps in offering product solutions that solve business needs and overcome challenges. Explain benefits of N-able platform and achieve cross-selling.
* Assist prospects during the product evaluation cycle by responding to technical queries via email. Troubleshoot with developers and provide online remote assistance to solve complex pre-sales support problems. Review escalations and provide guidance to junior staff.
* Perform advanced troubleshooting techniques on all N-able products. Field escalations to product or development teams. Identify and isolate issues through log analysis
* Identify product-specific areas for improvement to enhance the evaluation experience. Consolidate team feedback and communicate with product managers.

What You'll Bring

* Desirable industry certifications (MCSE, CCNA, etc.)
* Demonstrated knowledge of or exposure to N-able’ product portfolio
* Advanced level experience with a network or application monitoring solution
* SME in networking, systems, applications, virtualization, storage, and/or security event management
* Windows and Unix scripting (VB, Perl, shell) preferred
* Ability to demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques and to prioritize tasks based on business needs
* Solid understanding of IT management software landscape with exceptional ability to position products
* Demonstrated initiative in building relationships with key customers and partners
* And a track record of driving customer adoption of technology
* Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementation skills to allow the successful completion of time-bound projects
