A busy and highly regarded Mental Health team is seeking an experienced Solicitor, Supervisor, or Chartered Legal Executive to join their department. This is a chance to grow with a fast-expanding team across England and Wales, with the potential to develop into an Area Management role, leading and shaping your own area.
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
1. Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act
2. Experience in Mental Health law (dual practice in Mental Health and Court of Protection/Health & Welfare is a plus)
3. Previous management experience is desirable but not essential
Key Responsibilities
4. Meeting clients, taking instructions, and providing expert legal advice
5. Drafting tailored applications, documents, and letters
6. Negotiating with clients and other professionals
7. Conducting research and analysing case law
8. Representing clients in Tribunals with in-house advocacy
9. Supervising and delegating to trainees, paralegals, and legal secretaries
10. Ensuring top-level client care and maintaining high standards of file management
11. Keeping up to date with legal developments and undertaking CPD

12. Current Practicing Certificate
13. Member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme
14. Legal Aid Supervisor under the Mental Health Contract
15. Excellent communication and advocacy skills
16. Strong organisation and time management
17. Able to work under pressure in high-stakes, sensitive cases
18. Confident, proactive, and able to build relationships with courts, care staff, counsel, and advocacy agencies
19. Proficient in Microsoft Office
