Donnelly Group is recruiting! This is an exciting time to join our growing team. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Department in an entry-level Accounts Assistant role. This position may be ideally suited to a school leaver with an interest in pursuing a career in business or accountancy. Full training will be provided.
About The Role
Reporting to the Site Accountant, the successful candidate will assist with the accurate and timely preparation of accounts. Responsibilities will include the daily preparation of lodgements, reconciliation of cash books, and supporting the maintenance of sales and purchase ledgers. Full training will be provided.
The role will require you to perform some of the following duties but also to have a working knowledge of all areas of the accounts function including :
Key Responsibilities:
The role will involve performing some or all of the following duties:
* Preparation of daily lodgements and posting to the appropriate ledgers
* Assisting with bank reconciliations
* Reconciling sales ledger accounts and supporting credit control activities
* Processing and verifying purchase invoices
* Identifying and investigating invoice discrepancies
* Assisting with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Analysing monthly credit card expenditure
* Preparing ad-hoc reports for management as required
* Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers
* Carrying out additional ad-hoc duties to support the finance function
Person Specification:
* Ideally suited to a recent school leaver with an interest in business or accountancy
* IT literate with strong numeracy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* High attention to detail with good communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
* Capable of working independently and as part of a team
* Assisting with ad-hoc duties as and when required

* Excellent IT skills, proficient in Excel and other Microsoft packages
* Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills, able to work unsupervised and plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
