SENIOR FULL-STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Catapult is building the future of sports performance technology, with a mission to Unleash the Potential of every athlete and team on Earth. Since 2006, our solutions have led the way in sports performance software, science and data. We work with over 5,000 teams worldwide, including NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, EPL, AFL, NRL, NCAA and more, providing coaches, managers and trainers the information they need to optimize athletes’ health, game‑day readiness and performance.
What You’ll Do
* Productize Core Utilities: Transform an existing library of internal scripts, data importers and management tools into reliable, production‑ready web applications.
* Migrate & Innovate Workflows: Decentralise complex workflows such as group administration and user management from desktop clients into seamless web and hybrid experiences.
* Serve as a “Tiger Team” Catalyst: Build bespoke tools, custom league integrations and special‑project solutions for high‑profile clients where pivoting the core platform is too heavy.
* Establish Engineering Standards: Define modern web best practices, set up robust CI/CD pipelines and align with Catapult’s wider web divisions to standardise technology stacks.
* Lay the Foundation for a Team: Anchor the web‑technology domain expertise of the team, mentor C++/Qt engineers, and prepare to lead and scale a dedicated web squad in the future.
What You’ll Need
* Deep Web Ecosystem Expertise: Extensive experience with React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript and building cross‑platform apps wrapped in Electron and React Native.
* Application‑Layer Focus with Backend Literacy: Experience consuming complex internal APIs, managing frontend state, database design and backend architecture.
* Architectural & DevOps Autonomy: Build web environments from scratch, configure developer workflows, automated testing and deployment pipelines.
* Pragmatic & Fast‑Paced Problem Solving: Proven track record in a “tiger team” style capacity with rapid prototyping and delivery of high‑impact features under tight timelines.
* Technical Leadership Aptitude: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the desire or experience to mentor peers, align cross‑functional teams and transition into an engineering lead.
