Production Supervisor - Redditch - Starting Salary of £50,000 per annum - Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:30

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production function, ensuring targets are consistently met while upholding quality, safety, and compliance standards. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role requiring exceptional communication, planning, and people management skills.
What are the day to day duties for this Production Supervisor role?
Production Oversight
Plan and manage daily production schedules to ensure efficient throughput
Monitor progress against targets and adjust priorities as required
Analyse data and reports to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, and performance issues
Minimise downtime and address production issues swiftly and effectively
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise, mentor, and develop a production team to ensure a motivated and capable workforce
Conduct regular team briefings and communicate company objectives clearly
Monitor staff performance and manage disciplinary or attendance matters as needed
Support personal development through multi-skilling and structured training
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure all team members adhere to site HSE procedures and PPE requirements
Promote a strong health and safety culture within the department
Report and investigate incidents or near misses in a timely manner
Participate in and contribute to HSE training and audits
Quality Assurance
Maintain high-quality standards across the production line
Monitor non-conformances and implement root cause analysis where needed
Ensure self-checking processes are followed and compliance is maintained
Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer expectations are met
Consumables & Inventory
Monitor availability of materials, tools and equipment
Manage consumable usage and requisitions
Ensure materials are properly allocated and stored to avoid waste or delays
Project Support
Participate in business improvement or operational projects as required
Communicate project milestones and progress clearly to stakeholders
What skills and experience do I need for this Production Supervisor role?
Essential:
Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a production/manufacturing environment
Excellent understanding of production planning, team management, and HSE regulations
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands
Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable improvements
Desirable:
Previous experience in the security products or metal fabrication industry
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
Familiarity with BIQ and other quality management systems
Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a production/manufacturing environment
Excellent understanding of production planning, team management, and HSE regulations
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands
Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable improvements
