Logistics Team Leader
* Location: Berinsfield
* Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
* Reports to: Logistics Manager
We are seeking a motivated Logistics Team Leader to supervise our team of Stores Operatives, ensuring that warehouse operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and accurately in accordance with company procedures. This role is pivotal in motivating the team, managing workloads, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Supervise, coordinate, and support a team of Logistics Operatives.
* Conduct weekly team meetings to communicate objectives, priorities, and business updates.
* Enforce Health & Safety regulations, ensuring the team adheres to company safety procedures and best practices.
* Oversee the storage, kitting, and dispatch of goods and materials, maintaining accurate stock levels within the inventory management system.
* Ensure strict adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles, particularly for product lifecycle management.
* Conduct regular stock counts and assist with internal or external audits.
* Allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance to ensure KPIs and deadlines are met.
* Investigate and report any discrepancies or damages in stock or deliveries.
* Assist in training new staff and support the ongoing development of the existing team.
* Liaise closely with various departments such as Procurement and Production to maintain smooth operational flow.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all warehouse areas.
* Support the Logistics Manager with problem-solving and additional tasks as required.
* Operate forklifts and manage offsite storage areas effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
* Computer literacy is essential.
* Forklift licence (training can be provided if necessary).
* Strong communication skills, capable of engaging at all levels of the organisation.
* Educated to a good standard, including GCSE English and Maths.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams.
