Band B Part Time 16 hours per week on a 38 weeks per year contract Fixed Term Unqualified Playworker from 18 May 2026 - 31 December 2026 What You'll Bring to St George's Primary School: We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Playworker with: Proficiency in literacy and numeracy (GCSE level or equivalent). Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or a willingness to undertake training. Experience working with children in a school or related environment. Ability to work collaboratively in a team. Good communication, administration, and organisational skills. Empathetic, approachable, and positive attitude towards children. Understanding of children's welfare needs. Conflicts or incidents in line with school behaviour policies. Helping prepare and serve refreshments, following health and safety guidelines. Setting up and cleaning equipment, encouraging children's independence whilst maintaining a safe environment for play. Maintaining attendance registers using our booking system and ensuring children leave with the designated adult. Reporting & recording incidents, accidents, and any issues concerning discipline or safety on our School MIS and to the Extended Service Manager, as appropriate. Collaborating with teachers and other staff to support children's welfare and safety. Your Role in Dragon Club We are looking to appoint a reliable, committed member of the Dragon Club team to provide care, guidance and support for our children during our morning and after-school wrap-around care. (Monday 2.00pm - 5.30pm, Tuesday 2.30pm - 5.30pm, Wednesday 2.00pm - 5.30pm, Thursday 2.30pm - 5.30pm to Friday 2.30pm - 5.30pm, Term Time only) The role involves delivering an exciting range of programmes and activities for children aged 3-11, in the allocated play spaces. We require a caring, committed individual who has the ability to work as part of the school team and inspire trust and confidence in children. The post holder will also assist in the preparation of snack with due regard to health & safety in food preparation and an awareness of the school's healthy school status and policy. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of the children. The ability to use IT equipment and navigate the school's MIS and booking systems is essential. Full training will be given. The post holder must be self-motivated, flexible and a good team player, who is dedicated to ensuring that Dragon Club is a pleasurable and safe experience for our children As an Unqualified Playworker, you will be responsible for: Supervising and escorting children to play areas safely, ensuring they have their belongings.
