Job Description

As a chartered Cost Manager/Senior Cost Manager you will have experience in infrastructure, with experience of working within this sector essential.

What you will contribute to the team:

* Supporting the development of new business opportunities within the advisory market
* Supporting the development of best practice initiatives for the delivery of our services within this team
* Assist in the development of programmes for the delivery of our services
* Preparation of estimates and cost plans in line with the brief
* Provision of financial advice including the impact of inflation
* Preparation of standard documentation – reports, valuations, letters, financial statement
* Preparation of tender and contract documents and participating in contract reviews relating to the contract with the customer
* Analysis of tenders and preparing tender reports
* Prepare valuations and financial statements; re-measure as necessary and adjust variations
* Assist in the settlement of construction disputes and prepare and agree final accounts
* Attend appropriate design team and progress meetings as and when required

Candidate Specification

Required for the position of Cost Manager:

* Experience in relevant sectors: built environment & buildings.
* Experience in the education sector is desirable, although not essential.
* Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying subject (or equivalent)
* Chartered MRICS or working towards
* Proven skills and experience of delivering within a Cost Consultancy team whilstmanaging high value contracts, capable of leading and delivery of multiple, medium to high complexity projects
* procures advice when required

IT Skills

Movar is a market front runner when it comes to digital innovation and as such we lookfor the most progressive people in the market. Essential IT skills required are:

* Microsoft Office Suite
* Contract Administration tools

Preferred (but not required) skills

* Competent at managing and cultivating defined client relationships and securingnew work
* Experience or contribution towards leading a team or managing personnel, orcontribution towards staff development
* Experienced in making decisions and presenting findings back to the client andinternal stakeholders
* CostX / PowerBI / SharePoint experience is desirable but not essential
* Competent as a client account manager
* Competent at building relationships both with internal management and externallywith key client stakeholders
