We are seeking a Consultant Physician to join us in delivering high quality medicine to older people in Fife; working within a very enthusiastic department, which is fully integrated with acute and general medicine. This post will allow our department to continue to provide ongoing care in our Acute Services, our Community Hospitals and Hospital at Home Teams. Applicants will participate in a weekday and weekend acute medical receiving rota which attracts 2 PAs.
The post holder will join a team of sixteen other Consultant Physicians in NHS Fife to meet the rising demand for frailty and older adult medicine services in Fife, across both Acute and Primary Care.
The post sits within the Medicine of the Elderly Department, which spans services across both the Health and Social Care Partnership and Medicine Directorate. It provides the opportunity to input into all aspects of frail and older adults medicine, including acute and community frailty assessment, rehabilitation and medical out-patients. Within the department, we have a wide range of subspecialty interests and there is opportunity for the successful candidate to develop a subspecialty interest in any of these areas.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training to Non-UK Applicants must demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills and experience required for practising as an eligible specialist in the UK.
