Corin is seeking an accountable and collaborative NPI Product and Process Quality Engineer based in the Global Head Office in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, where we design, test, engineer, manufacture, inspect, and distribute our hip and knee implants. This is an office role working from 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, and 8 am to 1 pm on Friday, with an hour for lunch.
We are looking for an individual with an Engineering qualification and hands-on engineering experience in reading drawings and working within a manufacturing environment. Experience in Orthopaedics is preferred, but automotive or aerospace experience with transferable skills is also valuable. You should have a compliance and quality mindset, comfortable challenging design viability, and be proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab for data analysis and process improvement.
You will be an NPI Product and Process Quality Engineer who can:
1. Define and develop manufacturing solutions from the early phases of New Product Introduction (NPI) through to production, collaborating with Design and Production Engineers. A good understanding of Process Engineering, inspection methods, and manufacturing technologies for complex components in a regulated environment is essential.
2. Participate in project teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Quality (DFQ), and Design for Assembly (DFA) are achieved within project timelines, making informed decisions based on evidence and expertise.
3. Work with operational teams and external suppliers to develop manufacturing processes, specify new equipment, and understand lean manufacturing and project management principles.

Responsibilities include:
* Supporting end-to-end manufacturing of orthopaedic implants and instrumentation within cost and time constraints.
* Defining metrology and inspection methods, ensuring compliance with ISO13485 and GMP FDA21 CFR Part 820.
* Supporting problem-solving activities, generating manufacturing documentation, and maintaining process control and validation documentation.
* Analyzing process data for capability and stability, participating in project teams, and delivering presentations.
* Mentoring team members, providing operator training, and creating inspection documentation.
* Managing process engineering phases of projects involving high complexity, risk, and innovation, including CAPA projects.
* Driving technological innovation, supporting equipment procurement, and ensuring design for manufacturing and inspection standards.
* Engaging with suppliers, supporting CAPA activities, and participating in internal audits.
