Electrical Control Design Engineer

Our client, an engineering company, is seeking an EC&I Design Engineer for a permanent position in St Helens (hybrid). This role is within highly regulated environments such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation.
Role
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, based at the control panel manufacturing facility in Haydock, with hybrid working options. As an EC&I Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the electrical EC&I designs of control panels and related systems.
Main Responsibilities
Manage and complete EC&I engineering and design projects, support construction during manufacturing, and handle change control. Understand customer requirements and translate them into engineering solutions. Client-facing responsibilities include managing project scope expectations, carrying out, checking, and approving engineering and design estimates, and controlling project costs related to progress, scope change, and man-hours.
Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications/experience.
* 5-10 years of professional engineering design or technical specialist experience.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Eplan, AutoCAD Electrical, and familiarity with AMTECH.
* Knowledge of electrical engineering, including developing, testing, and evaluating engineering designs.
* Ability to meet UK security clearance criteria.
Advantageous Knowledge: Low Voltage switchgear design, control/automation systems, motor control centers, variable drive systems.
