Technical Performance Manager

We are seeking a senior technical leader to support our compliance function by leading an independent technical oversight team. This team monitors, investigates, and analyzes technical performance, ensuring systems for tracking quality and governance are robust. You will lead investigations into major complaints, legal cases, and audits, maintaining the independence and trust in our technical services.

The role
* Technical Competency Governance: Define and oversee policies for managing technical competency, ensure systems are in place, and collaborate across teams to meet business needs.
* Monitoring Technical Performance: Establish mechanisms for global performance monitoring, review KPIs, and support improvement initiatives.
* Quality Assurance of Technical Deliverables: Ensure processes verify the quality of technical outputs, and drive improvements based on audit findings.
* Investigation Management: Lead investigations into technical failures, coordinate corrective actions.
* Technical Learning & Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate training, share best practices, and distribute technical knowledge across the organization.
* Fleet Quality & Port State Control (PSC) Performance: Oversee fleet quality systems, monitor PSC rankings, and lead quality improvement programs.
* Industry Insight & Strategic Alignment: Stay informed of industry trends and contribute to strategic positioning.
* Project & Programme Leadership: Manage major projects, ensure standards and budgets are met.
* Specialist Advisory Support: Provide expert advice internally and externally.
* Continuous Professional Development: Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and regulatory awareness.
* Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor colleagues to promote technical excellence.
What you bring
* A degree or equivalent in engineering or physical sciences, or marine qualifications with sea-going experience.
* Professional membership and Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
* Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
* Knowledge of marine classification, statutory processes, and experience as a surveyor or technical specialist.
* Understanding of marine and offshore classification rules and legal proceedings.
