Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Mechanical Supervisor- Cat 3 on a 1 Month Contract, based in Scotland. This Role is Outside IR35& Can be limited Company or Umbrella. £39.00- £45.00 per hour if located 50 miles from site. 50 hrs in week and 12 on 2 off rotation
Role Summary
The Mechanical Supervisor (CAT 3) is responsible for supporting site delivery by leading and coordinating mechanical work activities and small teams on behalf of the Site Manager. The role ensures that all mechanical installation activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
The supervisor has a duty of care for themselves and all personnel under their control and must ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
* Assist the Site Manager in the supervision and delivery of mechanical works across designated work areas
* Take a lead role in coordinating small mechanical teams and work activities on site
* Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with applicable Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) procedures as briefed during site induction
* Lead assigned teams across multiple work fronts, ensuring work is delivered:
* On time
* To the required quality standards
* Within agreed cost parameters
* Undertake forward planning to ensure upcoming work fronts are fully prepared with:
* Correct engineering and technical information
* Appropriate plant, tools, and equipment
* Materials and labour resources
* Any additional requirements necessary for successful task completion
* Operate within site management timescales and proactively identify and communicate potential delays or deviations
* Coordinate with other supervisors, contractors, and work parties to ensure safe and efficient site operations
* Capture and report delays, disruptions, and variations from the original scope of work
* Maintain accurate site records, including task cards, daily reports, and progress updates
* Promote and enforce safe working practices, stopping work where unsafe conditions or behaviours are identified
Requirements
* Apprentice trained with City & Guilds or minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate discipline and a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience;
OR
* Industry-recognised training with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as part of a team on an Electricity Supply Industry construction site or similar environment (e.g. power generation, oil & gas, or general construction).
* Proven experience in mechanical installation activities on construction or industrial sites
* CAT 3 Supervisor accreditation (essential)
* Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and site installation practices
