To strengthen our Northern Region team, we are recruiting a permanent Senior Engineer to work on debris screen projects across Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. Responsibilities include the replacement, modification, and removal of existing screen structures according to detailed design specifications. The candidate should have experience in progress reporting, maintaining quality assurance records, and design and temporary works coordination.
The role involves overall technical control of projects, including monitoring and coordinating design changes, ensuring construction aligns with project specifications, and maintaining ITP plans and records in line with project progress.
The Main Duties for this role are:
1. Undertake day-to-day setting out duties independently.
2. Train, manage, and mentor Junior Engineers.
3. Manage site sampling and performance testing, maintaining records as per contract specifications.
4. Complete hazard and risk assessments and prepare method statements.
5. Manage site service plans and drawings, issuing permits accordingly.
6. Assist the site QS/Project Manager with record-keeping and claims documentation.
7. Monitor and control temporary works.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Are you the Senior Engineer we are looking for?
We seek someone with strong communication skills, team collaboration ability, and main contractor experience on heavy civils schemes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in progress reporting, quality records (ITPs, site diaries, inspection records), design coordination, and temporary works coordination. A CSCS card and a civil engineering qualification (minimum HND) are required. Additional desirable qualifications include First Aid, SMSTS, and a Degree in Civil Engineering.
A full UK driving license is essential, and the candidate must be willing to travel throughout our Northern Region.
