Overview
The Trust Grade Doctors – Core Level – Maxillofacial Surgery within University Hospitals Leicester (UHL) will be responsible for the day‑to‑day care of all inpatients and will cover the wards and ED Unit after work hours with support from Middle Grade and Consultant Staff.
Responsibilities
* Carry out minor surgical procedures under both local and general anaesthetic with supervision.
* Provide day‑to‑day care of all inpatients from 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays and cover wards and ED after 17:00 Monday to Sunday.
* Manage a large volume of maxillofacial trauma and special interests in salivary gland disorders, facial deformity and head and neck malignancy utilising micro‑vascular free tissue transfer technique.
* Actively participate in the innovative service delivery, excellence in training and clinical research.
Qualifications
* Full GDC or GMC qualification required at commencement.
* Recruitment for a fixed period of 12 months – the post is not accredited for any training.
* Eligible to take study leave and allocated funding for training and study.
