Overview
As an Intelligence Technical Officer in the Environment Agency’s National Environmental Crime Unit, you will build confidence and capability across area teams in intelligence-led ways of working and the use of intelligence systems to better understand Threat, Risk and Harm and drive a safer, more effective response to environmental offending while protecting officer safety.
This is a new role within the Intelligence and Partnerships team. You will support area teams by providing Memex training, promoting the use and benefits of Memex, and improving the quality of intelligence submissions. You will provide face-to-face training on MEMEX, support and train area teams to submit intelligence and conduct searches, supervise intelligence logs to ensure high-quality submissions, create entities from Memex submissions, and provide regular performance reports with actionable feedback. You will also perform other duties commensurate with the role.
Location is flexible with a mix of home and office working; travel to Birmingham and other offices will occasionally be required. Responding to incidents is a central part of the role, and you will be required to have an incident role and be available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support. This may attract additional payment and training, with alternative working arrangements available to support incident duties.
We are committed to an inclusive workforce and welcome flexible working patterns, including job share. Please include any information about your preferred working arrangements on your application.
