We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join us as a Recovery Motivator. You will support service users in Reading to engage with community-based substance use treatment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist those directly impacted by substance use and collaborate with key partners to empower communities.

Full Time Salary: £25,077.00
Contract: Fixed term until 31/03/2026
*Note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, salary and payments are pro-rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
* Meet individuals to discuss their personal recovery goals and encourage engagement with substance use treatment
* Create links with stakeholders and local communities to target hard-to-reach populations affected by drugs and alcohol—such as those at risk of recall to prison, isolated in communities, unaware of services, or perceiving services as inaccessible
* Attend team meetings and group supervision to share good practice and find solutions
* Utilise local resources and build community awareness, providing signposting to relevant agencies
About you:
* Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol use
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with good IT skills
* Ability to build relationships with individuals with complex needs while remaining empathetic and non-judgemental
* Confidence in working independently and as part of a team
* Ability to stay calm under pressure
* Willingness to travel as required, including in areas without public transport
* Willingness to undergo Prison Vetting and MOJ Vetting
