You will effectively plan, lead, and continually develop the analytical elements of these programmes. The role involves responsibly handling identifiable data in accordance with data sharing agreements and Information Governance policies, monitoring national developments, learning from best practices, developing local, agreed quality standards, and implementing necessary system changes. You will undertake data submission and validation for the programmes within their Operational Guidance and Information Governance policies, liaising with programme delivery providers, the programme commissioner, and the responsible body to ensure submission deadlines, coverage, and quality targets are met.
In addition, you will be involved in the wider work of the Public Health Intelligence service to inform the commissioning decisions of the Public Health Team. This includes analyzing a variety of health and social datasets, ensuring the results are accurate, fit-for-purpose, and well-presented, including interpreting results. You will also provide advice and guidance on data and analytical matters to internal and external customers, via meetings, presentations, or technical guidance documents.
You will need to work closely with the JSNA Manager to develop and maintain a shared intelligence function supporting the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). Candidates should have theoretical knowledge of research methods and statistical analysis, demonstrated by a degree with an analytical component or equivalent experience in an analytical role. The successful candidate will also have:
