About the Role -
Reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager, this role will be an integral part of the Asset Care function within Maturation South Engineering Centre. The role will cover all Maturation South sites. The objective is to ensure full compliance in Asset Care activities. The job holder must ensure all Statutory and Legislative tasks are completed on time in full, with SAP and KPI reports updated accordingly. The main purpose is to always be "audit ready".
The Compliance Engineer will work with Site Management, Maintenance teams, and Risk & Governance to ensure maintenance activities are aligned with legislative standards.
To ensure that Maintenance activities across Maturation South conform to all Diageo policies, procedures, standards, and UK legislation. A key outcome is to ensure zero harm to employees, compliance with legislative requirements, and avoidance of legal action, fines, or damage to reputation.
Key Elements of the Role -
* Manage British Engineering Services Database of Statutory inspections / Maintenance activities. Ensure SAP and the database are up to date. Build work orders for follow-on tasks.
* Ensure compliance for all Legislative (LEG) tasks in SAP including Pressure Systems, Local Exhaust Ventilation, Lifting Equipment, Lightning Protection systems, HV/LV, SIL, Hazardous Inspections, PUWER (list not exhaustive).
* Manage compliance activities - Make plant available, ensure safe access, Isolations, Risk Assessment, Method Statement approvals, Permit to Work.
* Ensure all Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) documentation is completed and filed in compliance folders and audited regularly.
* Follow Management of Change system and ensure all actions are driven to completion.
* Administer and coordinate Maintenance systems and documentation on Diageo Systems including SAP, EQMS, Enablon, and SharePoint.
* Prepare and maintain Compliance key metrics data and Visual Management Information.
* Support technical experts with document creation, survey work, and implementation of standards, including Maintenance reviews, Management of Change, Early Equipment Management, and Compliance with all legal requirements.
* Assist in preparing for HSE, SEPA, GAR, and CARM audits.
* Promote a strong safety culture as a Safety Ambassador. Participate in safety meetings and audits.
* Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, attend seminars, and update skills and knowledge in Compliance matters.
* Participate in the Manufacturing Excellence agenda.
* Hold a full clean UK driving licence.
About You -
* A recognised technical background in Mechanical or Electrical fields is required.
* A solid understanding of Health & Safety is essential, with training provided (e.g., NEBOSH, COMPEX).
* Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple activities.
* Ability to manage workload, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in PC skills.
* Knowledge of legislative requirements to support decision-making.
* Proactive in self-development and learning.
* Willingness to present materials and strategies to audiences.
* Ability to coach others in compliance and safety.
