* Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning food items according to established recipes and standards
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, and sanitizing work surfaces and storage areas
* Assist kitchen staff with food preparation tasks and support chefs during service periods
* Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Receive and store deliveries, checking items for quality and proper storage conditions
* Manage kitchen waste and recycling in accordance with organizational procedures
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, ovens, and food preparation tools
* Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to coordinate tasks and resolve any issues that arise
* Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damaged items to supervisory staff
* Perform general kitchen maintenance tasks and assist with deep cleaning as needed
Qualifications
* Proven experience working in a kitchen or food service environment (preferred)
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
* Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
