* Rate: £37,000 - £58,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Description
The Project Supervisor will oversee the safe delivery of physical work within the Reactors Programme. Responsibilities include supervising safe, secure, and environmentally compliant work by SQEP individuals, intervening when necessary, and understanding the legal implications and scope of tasks.
The role involves supervising operations within the facility's safety case envelope or project plan, including projects in non-nuclear locations. The supervisor must be able to be on-site within approximately ten minutes during significant operations and be reachable during low-risk activities, maintaining responsibility even when not physically present.
Main Responsibilities
1. Supervise safe, secure, and environmentally compliant work within the safety operating envelope, ensuring tasks are performed by competent personnel as per MAN2003.
2. Manage and monitor contractor performance.
3. Update practices in line with revisions to processes and legislation.
4. Review and prepare safe work procedures.
5. Apply STOP procedures when necessary.
6. Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate safe project delivery.
7. Assist in project progress reporting and programme status updates.
8. Participate in work scope, hazard reviews, and scheduling.
9. Contribute to handover documentation and project handovers.
10. Report and investigate abnormal conditions and incidents, taking protective actions as per PRC 0001.
11. Act as Building Supervisor where applicable.
12. Participate in emergency response and drills.
13. Fulfill management authorization responsibilities relevant to the role.
Additional Requirements
* Supervisors must be appointed as Permit Receiver and RPS where Local Rules apply.
* Manage staff as a Line Manager.
Aptitudes and Experience
* Experience with processing operations; practical experience with alkali metals is advantageous.
* Willingness to work on a casual shift basis.
* Mechanical fitter background is advantageous.
* Post-specific capability assessment number 26 available from agency.
