A well-established manufacturing organisation based in North Shields is seeking an experienced and proactive
Senior Office Manager
to join their team on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead and support a dynamic administrative function within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor administrative staff, conduct appraisals, support development, and assist with recruitment and onboarding.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal departments, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
Oversee office equipment, supplies, and facility issues, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
Liaise with external HR providers for guidance on grievances and disciplinary matters.
Manage the internal CRM system and ensure completion of all works and sales documentation.
Ensure high-quality clerical support including typing, word processing, reprographics, and filing.
Maintain an effective telephone service across the organisation.
Liaise with the North East Chamber of Commerce regarding customs clearances and export documentation.
Organise foreign travel for Engineers, including visa applications.
Manage the Pipeline and plan work in alignment with quarterly targets.
Attend Senior Management meetings, take minutes, and produce action reports.
Order staff uniforms and liaise with suppliers on design and amendments.
Prepare payroll hours and administer annual leave requests.
Support audits and follow archiving procedures.
Draft formal letters when requested or on behalf of Directors.
Monitor stock levels and place orders with suppliers in line with the Pipeline.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in office management within a manufacturing or industrial setting, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of HR processes and CRM systems.
