We are seeking a well‑motivated registered nurse to join our Nuclear Medicine team. The position is based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and part‑time at 29 hours per week. The working pattern will be negotiable with the successful candidate.
This is an exciting time to join our department. The departments at WCH and CIC have undergone significant redevelopment with the installation of new SPECT/CT cameras at both sites. WCH and CIC undertake a wide range of imaging, non‑imaging and out‑patient therapy work.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the highest standard of professional nursing care is provided to all patients attending the department.
* Participate in clinical governance and clinical audit initiatives and ensure evidence‑based practice.
* Safely and accurately administer radiopharmaceuticals by oral and intravenous routes to adult and paediatric patients.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse.
* Experience working in an outpatient department, such as radiology, is an advantage.
* Specific training in Nuclear Medicine will be provided by the lead nurse and other staff as appropriate.
The successful appointee will be an integral part of the local Nuclear Medicine team which includes clinical scientists, clinical technologists, nursing and administrative staff.
