Working within the Energetics and Materials Team, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and manufacturing materials and products to meet demanding requirements, including physical, chemical, thermal, mechanical, and ballistic properties under extreme conditions.
The role involves attending specialist training courses and conferences, as well as on-the-job training to develop necessary skills and competences.
Technical Responsibilities - Energetics Chemist
* Developing and monitoring propellant to meet energy, mechanical, and ballistic requirements.
* Improving, driving efficiencies, and standardising manufacturing processes.
* Qualifying propellant and materials according to defence and internal standards.
* Managing materials (stocks, quality, performance, legislation) to meet strict design requirements.
* Supporting and improving manufacturing processes.
* Qualifying materials for manufacturing.
* Clearing ingredients and finished materials for manufacturing.
* Researching and testing materials using known and novel processing methods, including mixing technology.
Requirements:
* Degree in Chemistry.
* Interest and aptitude in chemistry/material science, with high self-motivation.
* Experience in a disciplined/technical manufacturing, process, or lab environment.
