Overview
An experienced Front End Engineer is required to support a high-profile programme within a secure environment. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering modern, responsive user interfaces, working closely with cross-functional teams and end users.
Key Responsibilities
Develop modern, responsive front end applications using React and TypeScript
Build real-time, data-driven features (e.g. WebSockets / SignalR)
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and users to define and deliver requirements
Contribute to scalable, maintainable front end architecture
Integrate UI components with APIs and backend services
Write clean, secure, and well-tested code
Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos)
Work with user researchers to translate user needs into technical solutions
Support containerised environments as part of the wider platform
Produce clear documentation and prototypes
Key Skills
Strong JavaScript and front end development experience
React (or similar frameworks such as Vue or Angular)
Experience building responsive, user-focused interfaces
Real-time data handling (e.g. WebSockets)
Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
Desirable Skills
js (tooling or full-stack exposure)
Nginx or similar web servers / reverse proxies
Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman
AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Bash or PowerShell scripting
Understanding of databases and API integrations
Experience within defence or secure environments
