STARK UK is a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, and we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Finance Analyst to support our Central Functions with insightful reporting, robust analysis, and data‑driven recommendations.
In this role you will support the Head of Finance, SFBP and FBP in providing strategic financial insight support to central functions (such as Supply Chain, Transport, Distribution Centre, HR, EHS and Legal).
The role partners senior stakeholders to drive value, optimise cost and investment decisions, and ensure financial discipline, transparency, and alignment with organisational strategy. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role translates financial data into clear, actionable insights that enable informed decision-making and sustainable performance
What You'll Be Doing
* Consolidated financial reporting (P&L, OPEX, CAPEX, FTE tracking).
* Variance analysis vs Budget / Forecast / Prior Year.
* Preparation of executive-ready presentations for leadership reviews.
* Financial modelling and scenario planning.
* Risk & opportunity tracking.
* Supporting cost optimization and productivity initiatives.
* Ensuring compliance with financial policies and controls.
* Coordination with accounting during month-end close.
* Support in the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting with clear variance analysis and actionable insights.
* Support effective budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning to drive financial discipline.
* Provide value-added business partnering to central functions to enhance cost control and decision-making.
* Ensure strong financial governance, data integrity, and compliance with internal controls.
* Improve transparency and efficiency of shared cost allocations and central overhead management.
* Contribute to process improvements, automation, and continuous enhancement of financial reporting.
What We're Looking For
* Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, with a clear and accessible approach.
* Comfortable presenting to senior management.
* Proven experience in building and maintaining strong, productive relationships across various departments. Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders in a constructive and collaborative manner.
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
* Proven track record in a commercial finance/business partnering role, ideally within builders' merchants, distribution, construction supplies, or a related trade sector.
* Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insight into business action.
* Confident stakeholder manager, able to challenge and influence senior leaders across Sales, Operations, and Commercial.
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders.
