Amazon is seeking Area Managers for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). These centers distribute millions of products annually to our loyal customers. The key focus areas are safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity.
Area Managers are responsible for budget management, people development, and operations within a specific functional area (Inbound or Outbound). Responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Process Assistants, coaching and mentoring to meet performance objectives, fostering positive employee relations, and developing leadership within the FC.
They drive staffing, scheduling, quality initiatives, process improvements, and Six Sigma projects to meet and exceed business goals. They set clear expectations for Process Assistants, measure performance, provide feedback, and ensure accountability. They leverage ideas from their team to develop improvement plans, share best practices across departments, shifts, and networks, and collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, IT, etc.) to secure resources and support for initiatives.
The role also involves addressing operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
Basic Qualifications
* 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
* Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
* 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques
