The Role
We’re hiring a Chemical Policy Analyst to work at the intersection of policy, data, and AI. Your responsibilities include monitoring chemical regulations across jurisdictions, interpreting their impact on business, and using advanced tools to convert legal texts into structured, usable intelligence.
This role is unique and innovative. You’ll be part of a close-knit team that values clarity, curiosity, and speed. You’ll help shape how next-generation tools like custom-trained language models and automated research agents support high-quality regulatory analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Use AI systems to extract structure, context, and meaning from legislation, guidance documents, and stakeholder submissions.
* Write clear, accurate summaries tailored for regulatory, product safety, and sustainability teams.
* Collaborate with product teams to improve handling of policy complexity and edge cases.
* Assist in mapping substances to policy actions, deadlines, and regulatory risks using structured datasets.
* Contribute to thought leadership on AI in regulation and share insights with the community.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Academic background in chemistry, toxicology, environmental science, law, or related fields
* 2+ years of experience in regulatory analysis, chemicals management, consulting, or policy research
* Solid understanding of regulatory systems (EU REACH, CLP, BPR, TSCA, etc.)
* Ability to interpret legal and technical texts and translate into practical language
* Strong writing and analytical skills with attention to detail
Preferred but Not Essential
* Experience with AI tools: prompting language models, testing AI assistants, training models
* Familiarity with Airtable, Make.com, or other no-code/low-code platforms
* Knowledge of Python, structured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML), or research automation frameworks
* Experience working in or with early-stage startups
