GALE Action Forum is recruiting a Housing Project Officer on behalf of the Mid Wester Ross Housing Group to support long term housing planning across Mid Wester Ross. This role suits someone with strong analytical and community engagement skills who is comfortable working across multiple stakeholders in a rural setting.
The role
You will support the formal development of the Mid Wester Ross Housing Group and help shape a long term housing strategy for the area. You will analyse existing housing data and local housing strategies to build a clear evidence base. You will carry out further community consultation where required across Mid Wester Ross. You will develop a ten year Housing Strategy covering villages within the Torridon and Kinlochewe, Gairloch, Wester Loch Ewe and Aultbea community council areas. You will build and maintain positive working relationships with local landowners, community groups, bodies and public sector partners. You will work closely with organisations including The Communities Housing Trust, Albyn Housing and The Highland Council.
Working pattern
The role is part time at 17.5 hours per week. Working arrangements will be agreed to support delivery across a wide rural area. The role involves engagement with communities and partner organisations across Mid Wester Ross.
What we are looking for
* Experience of project work within housing, community development or related fields.
* Ability to analyse data and translate it into clear strategic planning.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills.
* Confidence working with community groups, public bodies and third sector partners.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage work independently.
* An understanding of rural housing challenges is desirable but not essential.
