Job Purpose
As Head of Property Services, you will provide strategic leadership and vision in achieving our emerging Housing Strategy by leading the development and growth of the service, contributing towards business and operational plans and utilising resources effectively.
Candidate Requirements - Essential
1. A formal built environment qualification e.g. RICS.
2. Extensive experience of staff leadership and management.
3. Demonstrable, knowledge and experience of significant financial management and budgetary control.
4. Effective demonstration of clear written and verbal communication skills and experience in using communication to lead and motivate teams and bring about culture change. Strengths in active listening.
5. Ability to critically analyse data to support service improvement.
6. Experience of leading teams where there are significant regulatory compliance requirements and where the teams are responsible for housing construction/ maintenance/ improvement.
7. Experience in commissioning/procuring contractors including the use of frameworks and knowledge legislative requirements and compiling multiple year procurement programmes.
8. Excellent organisational skills and abilities to manage competing demands, be self-directed, and anticipate the needs of others, as well as highly collaborative.
9. Experienced in developing asset investment plans, in line with stock data, funding availability and best practice including consultation with the wider organisation to ensure the plan reflects resident aspirations from feedback.
10. Extensive experience of service improvement and organisational development.
11. Demonstrable ability to see beyond operational needs to strategic service developments within organisational aims and values.
12. Detailed understanding of compliance requirements within the housing sector.
Candidate Requirements - Highly Desirable
13. A relevant management qualification.
14. Experience of working in the social housing sector.
15. Experience of leading teams within a direct services organisation.
16. Demonstrable understanding of the operating context for the housing association sector
17. Experience of working with repair and asset databases.
Salary & Benefits
18. £59,
19. £3, car allowance per annum
20. Holiday entitlement is 25 days rising to 28 days per each years' service + bank holidays.
21. Pension is 8% ER 5% EE
