Job Introduction
Transformation Office Manager
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Transformation Office Manager to play a pivotal leadership role within our Programme Delivery team. This is a high‑impact position responsible for the strategic design, operation and performance of our Transformation Office (PMO), enabling the successful delivery of a large‑scale, multi‑year transformation portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Programme Delivery, you will lead the Transformation Office, ensuring enterprise‑level governance, portfolio oversight, performance management and assurance. You’ll maintain a clear, integrated view of the transformation portfolio, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities while driving value, quality and delivery excellence.
This is an opportunity to shape how transformation happens across the organisation — building capability, strengthening governance, and enabling teams to deliver meaningful, lasting change.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will:
1. Provide strategic direction, support and challenge to Transformation Project Managers and delivery teams
2. Lead the Transformation Office (PMO), owning portfolio‑level governance, controls and performance management
3. Maintain an integrated view of scope, schedule, cost, benefits, risks and dependencies across the transformation portfolio
4. Ensure initiatives remain aligned to the Transformation Roadmap and strategic priorities
5. Act as the escalation point for portfolio‑level risks, issues and dependency conflicts
6. Lead PMO input into demand management, capacity planning and resource allocation
7. Work closely with project teams to ensure alignment across strategic programmes
8. Support data‑driven prioritisation to maximise value delivery
9. Line‑manage and develop PMO team members, building a high‑performing, capable function
10. Support succession planning and capability uplift within the Transformation Office
11. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across processes, tools and ways of working
12. Design, implement and continuously improve PMO governance frameworks, standards and controls
13. Own and maintain the Transformation Office Playbook, ensuring consistent application
14. Lead portfolio assurance activities including health checks, deep dives and independent reviews
15. Ensure decision‑making forums are supported with timely, insight‑led reporting
16. Partner with the Head of Programme Delivery on portfolio shaping, prioritisation and sequencing
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
17. A strategic mindset with the ability to align delivery activity to business goals
18. Strong adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
19. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills
20. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
21. Resilience and the ability to remain productive and positive under pressure
22. An innovative, improvement‑focused mindset
23. Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and guide teams
24. Demonstrable experience implementing best‑practice frameworks across large‑scale transformation programmes
25. Strong stakeholder management and executive‑level communication skills
26. Experience coordinating risks, issues, dependencies and impacts across complex portfolios
27. Financial and commercial acumen to support investment and prioritisation decisions
28. Experience facilitating resource allocation and capacity planning
29. A track record of operating as a senior member of a transformation or programme office in a complex organisation
30. A relevant third‑level qualification or equivalent experience
31. Experience working within a federated model
