Our client, a leading manufacturer in the Rigid Foam & Composites sector is expanding its commercial team and seeking a technically minded Sales Engineer to help drive growth across the UK and international markets. The Role As a Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing new business, supporting existing customers, and providing hands-on technical guidance across rigid foam and composite solutions. You'll work closely with internal teams to solve customer challenges, deliver tailored solutions, and strengthen the company's market presence. Initial training will be provided, and you can expect up to 80% travel for customer site visits, with the remainder office or home-based. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Identify and secure new business opportunities within the rigid foam and composites market. Achieve KPIs and sales targets through strategic planning and execution. Deliver engaging technical presentations to prospective clients. Technical Expertise Advise customers on foam applications, formulations, and processing techniques. Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to address technical challenges. Stay informed on industry trends, standards, and innovations. Customer Relationship Management Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and suppliers. Provide after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction. Conduct site visits and offer hands-on technical assistance. Market Analysis Monitor competitor activity and market developments. Prepare reports on sales performance, forecasts, and emerging trends. About You Qualifications & Experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or similar (preferred but not essential). 2-5 years' experience in technical sales, ideally within foam, polymers, or advanced materials. Skills Strong understanding of rigid foam chemistry and applications. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities. Confident interpreting technical data and providing solutions. Proficient with MS Office and CRM systems. Preferred Attributes Knowledge of applications across construction, marine, aerospace, buoyancy, or insulation. Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations for foam and composite materials. Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, with some international trips.
