As the Engineering Team Manager (ETM), you be responsible for the automation (Dematic Sorter) including the automation team, safety, and adherence to both legal requirements and Gist policies at the site. This role is crucial in ensuring that all engineering activities are aligned with the strategic objectives of the business while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
You will report to the Site Engineering Manager (SEM) who oversees all site and automaton engineering, key stakeholders, including, Site General Manager (GM), Site Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Manager.

Role details:
Salary: Circa £50,000 - £55,000 DOE
Hours: 37.5 per week
Working pattern: Days - Monday to Friday
Location: Site - Crewe, CW1 6FB
What you’ll do:
Your key accountabilities will include:
11. Continuous Improvement: Focus on all aspects of site functionality with a commitment to continuous improvement, utilising data to drive enhancements and automation efficiency
12. Preventative Maintenance Ownership: Oversee the system-based preventative maintenance program, encompassing all site facilities, fixed and mobile equipment, and portable electrical devices
13. Engineering Labour Utilisation: Manage site engineering labour, including annual leave planning, recruitment, and shift management, to maintain operational efficiency
14. Statutory Compliance and Servicing: Deputise for the SEM when required, including auditing via the IMS Module 7
15. Critical Spares Management: Ensure the availability and management of critical spares for site and automation engineering to consistently meet SLA requirements. Complete directed stock takes and cost capture for all inventory stock held on site for site and automation
16. Tools and Equipment Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of site engineering tools and equipment, ensuring they are fit for purpose and available when needed
Who you are:
Your skills and experience will include:
17. Experience in a facilities engineering/maintenance & automation environment
18. Experience in a large logistics automation department would be beneficial
19. Excellent technical ability to identify and evaluate technical issues and potential risks and develop innovative solutions.
20. Qualified in an engineering discipline; NVQ Lvl3 or higher
21. Experience in managing a small/medium team of engineers
