Location: Perth, Pitheavlis
At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We're looking for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) who will provide reliable and safe engineering support on-site during night hours.
Responsibilities:
• Complete electrical installations and maintenance in line with BS (18th Edition).
• Carry out testing, fault diagnosis, repairs, and updates to maintenance work orders.
• Use appropriate test equipment and tools with full understanding of their limitations.
• Follow all safety procedures, including no live working and strict lockout/tagout.
• Work as a multi‑skilled engineer, supporting electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance tasks.
• Assist tradespeople with wiring, calibration, alignment, and repairs.
• Carry out mechanical fixes, building fabric repairs, and plumbing checks as required.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across the site.
• Work autonomously as the night‑shift technical lead.
• Attend toolbox talks and participate in safety briefings.
• Raise safety concerns confidently and professionally.
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below‑defined requirements for the role.
• Qualified to BS (18th Edition) in Electrical Installations.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) – desirable.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant machinery, and controls.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and SOPs.
• Self‑motivated, organised, and able to work independently on night shifts.
• A genuinely multi‑skilled mindset—willing to turn your hand to any task required to keep the site running.
What's in it for you?
• A flexible 28‑day rota shared between two engineers, with autonomy to arrange shifts (e.g., 4 on/4 off).
• A supportive 3‑month induction period on the day shift to build site familiarity and meet the wider team.
• The opportunity to play a key role as the primary technical presence on site overnight.
