If so, The Waterview have a vacancy that may be great for you The Waterview is a specialist personality disorder service, serving the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.It is the only such service of its kind in the Trust. The Waterview provides long term Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to adults with recent and significant self-harming behaviour and chaotic and/or unstable relationships, especially those who have a recent history of using A&E or inpatient mental health services at times of crisis. We are looking for a compassionate, dynamic individual to join our small team as a Clinical Team Leader, to provide both 1-1 and group-based therapy, as well as high quality leadership and clinical supervision to the Senior Clinical Practitioners. In return, you will receive weekly Wellbeing Hour with the team; regular clinical supervision; and specialist training in psychological interventions. Main duties of the job Job Purpose & Overview of Main Responsibilities: • To co-ordinate the care of service users under Lead Professional Care (LPC) • To facilitate a range of specific therapy groups including Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) in a dedicated personality disorder service operating within a psychologically informed framework. • To provide highly developed clinical skills from a core profession, and further psychological training relevant to the clinical speciality (personality disorder). • To provide clinical supervision and appraisal for those less experienced members of the multi-disciplinary team and undertake the supervision of students • To lead on clinical audits within the Team About us Working at The Waterview: "The role is challenging but we look after each other and value our own and each others wellbeing. Job responsibilities 1. To lead on coordinating referrals to the team. 2. To undertake assessments of clients for the personality disorder programme, identifying specific personality traits, emotional ability of service user to use groups and their capacity to work towards shared treatment goals. 3. Facilitate and co-facilitate a range of therapy groups including Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) and Dialectical Based Treatment (DBT). 4. To act as Lead Professional for an identified number of service users with severe personality disorder, establishing and maintaining a long-term supportive relationship. 5. To conduct joint home visits, for engagement purposes or emergency assessments, as clinically indicated. 6. To initiate and carry through safeguarding alerts where appropriate. 7. To work with service users within intimate and emotionally intense individual and group sessions, where their behaviour may be unpredictable and challenging. 8. To undertake risk assessments and manage risk as part of the treatment process to maintain a safe and therapeutically sensitive environment for all when faced with threats of verbal abuse, deliberate self-harm and violence to self and/or others. 9. To assess the needs of carers, and work with them to best support the service user, where consent is given/appropriate. 10. To take a lead on Subject Access Requests received by the Team. Person Specification Education & Qualifications Essential • Relevant core professional qualification and registration (e.g. Nursing, Occupational therapy, Social work, Psychology, Psychotherapy). • Training / knowledge of therapies relevant to Personality Disorder, i.e. Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) and/Or Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and application to practice Desirable • Substantial postgraduate training and/or qualifications to diploma level relevant to personality disorder or models of practice. • Supervisor / Mentor qualification Previous Experience Essential • Extensive post (core profession) qualification experience in mental health including managing a caseload under Lead Professional Care • Experience of working therapeutically with people with personality disorder • Experience of participating in service development • Experience of co-facilitating groups. • Experience of supervising staff & students • Experience of managing co-existing issues (depression, anxiety, substance misuse, trauma, eating disorders, psychosis) • Experience of conducting psychologically informed assessment and compiling reports. • Ability and experience in risk assessment and crisis management.
