Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales is a dynamic and patient focused organisation. The Health Board is responsible for the direct management of a number of GP Practices and is developing these practices to be gold standard exemplars, creating services that are better able to meet the needs of the local population, easier to access and navigate, and are a rewarding and satisfying place to work.
The Health Board is looking for GPs who believe in a vision for high quality medical care and compassion within primary care, and who want to actively engage in delivering this in GP Practice sites across Wrexham and Flintshire. Both full time (37.5 hrs per week) and part time positions will be considered.
Responsibilities
* Manage a patient caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting; undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone, video, and email consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, providing advice to other colleagues, and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner;
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, supporting other team members by sharing clinical knowledge and experience;
* Demonstrate a contemporary, patient‑centred, prudent and team‑enabling approach to primary care.
This role requires flexibility to meet the demands of the practice and an individual work plan will be agreed in advance with the successful applicant.
A Welsh language skill is desirable but not mandatory; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP Register.
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent.
* Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible for inclusion.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable criteria
* Academic excellence (prizes, merits, distinctions etc.).
* MRCGP.
* Other relevant specialist interests & skills.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Vocational GP training.
* Experience in general practice and working in multi‑disciplinary team.
Desirable criteria
* Eligibility for minor surgery, obstetrics, family planning accreditation.
Skills
Essential criteria
* Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload and respond flexibly to workload fluctuations.
* Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek advice from senior doctors as appropriate.
* Commitment to team approach and multi‑disciplinary working.
* Effective counselling and communication skills.
* Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance.
* Commitment to participating in and understanding of the management process.
* Good IT proficiency.
* Ability to develop and sustain relationships with a wide range of individuals and within groups.
* Ability to work across organisations to deliver a common objective.
* Ability to draft letters, reports and protocols in a timely manner.
