Overview
We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper/Payroll clerk to join our company. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management of our organisation, providing insightful analysis and guidance to support strategic decision-making. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial services, ensuring that our financial records are accurate and compliant with regulations.
Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage.
* Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
* Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information.
* Prepare and post accruals and prepayments.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Post and reconcile inter company transactions.
* Manage account receivables processes and credit control.
* Managing daily bank reconciliations and cash flow.
* Preparing quarterly VAT returns.
* Running weekly and monthly payroll via Sage 50 payroll.
* Providing support to directors and offering initial HR assistance to employees.
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
* Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably within the engineering industry.
* Proficiency in Sage
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong communication skills.
* Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
