Job Details:
1. Location: Corby
2. Position: Compound Controller (Arrivals & Despatch Vehicle Inspector)
3. Working Hours: 37.5hours per week. Monday-Friday. Day Shift (Working between 6am-6pm)
4. Salary: £14.45 per hour. Overtime and Unsociable hours at an Increased rate.
About the role?
Working under the supervision and co-ordination of the Site Logistics Manager and Compound Supervisor, you will be required to log all vehicles arriving and leaving out automotive compound. Ensuring all vehicles are inspected, logged and parked in the correct area in a safe and secure manner.
Key responsibilities of the Role:
5. To Instruct arrival vehicles on where to park within the compound
6. To inspect the vehicles that are being unloaded and loaded onto the trucks
7. To ensure visitors’ paperwork is signed
8. To log vehicles onto the system using the tablet.
9. To liaise with the administration department about arrivals and departures.
10. To ensure vehicles are labelled correctly.
11. To communicate with drivers regarding parking within the compound.
12. To push vehicles through the lanes in an efficient and timely manner.
13. To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
14. Undertake other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.
The primary function of this role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility. Its associated duties are conducted in varying weather conditions throughout the year (PPE is provided to support such tasks). As you will be expected to store and transport vehicles in an outdoor logistics facility which also involves moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day.
About you?
15. To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
16. To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to work the specified shift times above.
17. The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles
18. The ideal candidate will have experience with vehicle inspections and be observant to spot damage.
19. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an automotive compound.
20. The ideal candidate will understand health and safety and cooperate with managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations.
